Kristofer Mencak has been dancing salsa socially for many years. He has trained capoeira in Brazil for long periods of time, travelled to Cuba for salsa, visited Dominican Republic for bachata and during the most recent years he has been to more than 25 kizomba festivals all over Europe to learn kizomba and semba. During spring 2013 he attended a teacher’s course in Portugal and currently he is teaching kizomba and semba at Salsaakademien in Stockholm. In 2013 he won the Scandinavian selection for the international competition Africadançar and ended up on on 7th place worldwide in the finals in Lisbon. He loves the more technically difficult moves in kizomba as well as playing with the music and rhythm.

José Rui Costodio is original from Cape Verde, but grew up in Portugal. He later move to Denmark where he met his dance partner Daniela on the dance floor, dancing kizomba. José knew straight away that he had found his passion when he tried kizomba. Learning from some of the kizomba masters, he started teaching this dance to the Danish people. Here his developed to a popular instructor, both locally and at international dance festivals.
Daniela Horta was born in Mozambique, but moved to Portugal in her childhood. When she finished her studies she went to Denmark where she met Jose. When starting with kizomba she understood that this was part of her roots and it soon became her passion. Daniela is the key factor behind the introduction of kizomba in Denmark and she is now travelling around Europe spreading the kizomba message. She is a popular instructor both due to her smooth style and pleasant personality.
